SPB S Janaki is the most common name on Radios in Tamil Nadu during 80′s. SPB informed in most of his interviews that S Janaki is the best singer in matching his expression and some times even taking a step ahead. They had a very nice coordination and both were Ilayaraja’s favorites. M S Viswanathan gave them their first song together. Ilayaraja started using this pair in 70′s and continued till mid 90′s. Ilayaraja reserved his best compositions and he has a Lions share in the best duets ever sung by them. 80′s of Tamil Music saw best of S Janaki – SPB and made them as one of the most memorable singing pair ever in South Indian Film Music.
